Hello, my name is Elesia Marie, and I'm the CEO and Executive Producer of Purple Hair Productions. I've been pursuing my acting career most of my adult life, but in the past two years have added screenwriter and director to my resume.

I had the idea to start my own production company about ten years ago. I was living in LA, living the starving artist life when I finally ran out of money and had to go and live with my parents in Marin City, CA. While I was extremely upset at the thought of putting my career on hold, I soon realized that I could act anywhere if I had a camera and a concept. I decided to call it Purple Hair Productions because I always wanted purple hair, but at the time was too afraid to get it.

Having a dream is great, making it a reality is a lot harder. Nothing ever came of my aspirations at the time, and I moved to Northwest Florida later that year. I continued taking acting classes and performed in a few short films, local features, and a web series. I even opened my own small business sewing novelty print kids clothing.

Then COVID happened. With nothing to do, I began to write a screenplay called ZOMBEEZ, based on a conversation I had with my husband about honey and zombie bees. Yes, zombie bees are real. I finished my script in June of 2020 and began to reach out to local filmmakers, trying to figure out if I'd BEE able to bring my bees to life. A producer, Nick Smith, loved my script and said "Let's do it!" We went into pre-production in November of 2020 and began principal photography in May of 2021. We wrapped filming June 5, 2021 and thus, Purple Hair Productions became a reality.

As a filmmaker, my goal is to develop a lucrative film industry in Northwest Florida that is committed to promoting our local talent, small businesses, and our beautiful Emerald Coast.
